Ubuntu 18.10 Release Date, New Features & More


According to the Ubuntu's official website,  the 18.10 version will be probably released October 18, 2018. Although the month is known for sure, the release date of Cosmic Cuttlefish is  subject to change.

What are some of the features and updates which are going to be shipped by default in the Ubuntu 18.10 linux distribution?

Communitheme will be used as the default desktop theme

With the new theme which will be shipped by default in the Ubuntu Cosmic Cuttlefish, the user is going to experience a cleaner desktop, a more modern look. According to trusted official sources, Ubuntu 18.10 will run a community-created theme by default, named Communitheme.



Those who are making use of the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS can easily install the Communitheme by making use of the following command on the terminal console.

snap install communitheme
Once you have managed to install the Communitheme by making use of the above command, restart your machine, try to login again and choose the session you want to experience.

Gnome 3.30 by default

Although it is not official yet, Ubuntu 18.10 will probably be shipped with Gnome 3.30 by default. The following is a preview of Gnome 3.30.

Final thoughts
